ACAA
Scholarship Fund 
As part of its mission to help reconnect alumni to our Alma Mater and support the Asian student community at Columbia, ACAA established the ACAA Scholarship Fund to encourage Asian students to accept Columbia’s offer of admission. The Fund provides four-year grants that will enhance the initial financial aid packages offered by the university’s undergraduate colleges to make them competitive with competing offers from other first-tier institutions. In addition, the Fund will provide grants to international graduate students to enable them to take English as a Second Language (ESL) courses prior to their graduate studies. The financial aid office within the admissions area of each school will select recipients for the scholarships based upon a candidate meeting these criteria:
Undergraduate Scholarships
The ACAA Scholarship Fund provides grants of $ 5,000 per year for four years to prospective first-year Asian students who request that their original financial aid package be enhanced to make it competitive with offers from other highly selective undergraduate institutions. Our goal is to help the university’s undergraduate colleges enhance their yield from the pool of the most outstanding Asian applicants receiving offers of admission. Scholarship recipients will initially be drawn from these schools:
Graduate ESL Scholarships
The ACAA Scholarship Fund will also provide grants of $ 3,000 to several international graduate students of Asian descent to enable them to take English as a Second Language courses prior to their graduate studies. This component of the Fund will begin in 2003. Endorsements
ACAA will host an annual formal benefit to raise scholarship monies from alumni, friends and corporate sponsors. The event will be held in the fall on campus and feature high profile speakers and dignitaries, as well as introduce the award recipients. Your support is vital. Our goal is to raise $ 1 million during the next few years to establish an endowment for the Fund.
